Eastside Legal Assistance Program

Provides free 30-minute legal advice sessions with an attorney, either in person or over the phone. Issues addressed include divorce, domestic violence, child support, landlord/tenant, consumer, public entitlements, wills, and probate. Offers advice clinics, self-help workshops and lectures. Does not assist with criminal cases. Serves low-income residents of East and Northeast King County (Domestic Violence Victims, Low Income, Working poor and unemployed.)

Neighborhood Legal Clinics
 (206) 267-7029  or (206) 340- 2593  or (206) 267-7100 Offers free, limited legal advice and referrals to King County residents and those Washington state residents with legal matters in King County who might otherwise have no access to the legal system. Area of law: Civil Rights, Consumer, Disability, Education, Elder Law, Employment, Family & Juvenile, Health, HIV/AIDS, Homeless, Housing, Immigration & Naturalization, Life Planning, Nonprofit Organizations, Public Benefits 

Populations Served: asylum seekers, children, domestic violence victims, elderly, general public, HIV, immigrants, lesbian, gay, bisexual & transgender, low-income, Native Americans, working poor and unemployed

Over 480 volunteer attorneys and 150 non-attorneys assist over 6,500 people per year by providing individual sessions of advice and consultation. Top three issues seen at the clinics are Family Law (30%), Consumer/Finance and Bankruptcy (20%), and Housing-Landlord/Tenant (10%).
