University of Washington School of Public Health Anti-Racism & Community Health Conference

This FREE one day conference will take place on Saturday, April 27th at the Intellectual House from 9:30am to 4pm. Our target audience is for Public Health students of color as well as students that are interested in pursuing a career in the field of Public Health.

The University of Washington School of Public Health is collaborating with the Students of Color for Public Health (SCPH) in hosting the first annual Anti-Racism and Community Health Conference. We are hosting this event because we are a group of diverse individuals who strongly believe that the field of Public Health needs diversity. The event serves to empower and educate Public Health students through guest speakers, panels, discussions and a resource fair.

This collaborative community health event will identify and prioritize needs, barriers and solutions to confront the burden of racism that has caused detrimental health outcomes for generations across Washington State and the world. This conference will have a range of public health professionals and students that will critically examine their own identities and lived experiences (intersectionality) to question how our community health has been impacted by racism.
